The World-wide Question: To beat, or not to beat.

Child abuse. It's not new to our society. It's nothing surprising. However, there's is a huge dilema: should you hit kids as a punishment, or shouldn't you? Sure, as a young child, I would get a spank or two to set me strait. However, is beating children until they bruse, bleed or are mentally scarred...is that acceptable? In many countries, child abuse is viewed differently. In Canada, I would say it is generally an unaccepted act. What do you think? Across the globe, each year, approximately 40 million children are abused each year, according to Child Abuse Effects*. That's 40 million chilren raped, punched, kicked, shaken, and slapped. This is only a guess of mine, but how many of those kids will survive?

Here are some links that relate to Child Abuse.
The following video is posed as comedic at first, but if you watch until the end, I think you'll see the message: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/60058/child_abuse/
This video broke me into tears, I couldn't even imagine someone could do something like this to a baby. Just a warning, this video is fairly graphic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2klSMYfcA8&feature=related

Think. Love. Comment.
